| Here some info you may or may not know. anyway jut thought id share since i got tnothing better to do right now. " /> The Fujiwara Tofu Shop from Initial D did exist in real life up until some time in 2010 before it was demolished due to urban redevelopment and road construction. The original Fujiwara Tofu Shop was actually called 藤野とうふ店 ("Fujino Tofu Shop") named after the actual owner. Some time in the year 2004, the film crew for the Initial D Live Action started scouting for locations to shoot the scenes in front of the tofu shop. The crew found Fujino's tofu shop and thought it looked exactly like the one in the manga. They changed the signage to Fujiwara Tofu Shop to shoot the movie. After the filming of the movie, Mr. Fujino was free to change the sign back to the original, but he didn't. And so the place had became a very popular spot for Initial D fans from around the world to visit and pay tribute to the show (..and possibly buy some of Fujino's tofu, very smart move Mr. Fujino! *winks*) From the year 2005 'til 2010, the tofu shop was such a holy land for Initial D fans that it had attracted media attention left and right. Unfortunately, Mr. Fujino passed away in the year of 2009 and because of urban redevelopment, the shop had to be demolished in 2010. Many fans were saddened by the news... In September 2012, with the help of Mr. Fujino's eldest daughter and 得知雅人 (Masato Tokuchi, owner of Carland AE86 specialty auto shop), the tofu shop reappears in its full glory in the Toy, Doll & Car Museum in Ikaho, Gunma. Make sure you check out the Read More links below for more history of the Fujiwara Tofu Shop. |

| The full chapter isn't out. I believe to have read the final 2 spoiler scans of it in the IDW forums. If I were you I would wait until all of the scans are out. | |

| - Spoiler:
The only explanation I can think of is that by having his lights off, the lights on his gauge clusters were also turned off (as with any car) and because of that he couldn't see the rpm on his tachometer (assuming he was so in the zone that he couldn't hear his revs). When he turned his lights back on, OH SHIT 12,500 rpm... BOOM.

| Saw this some where. Thought I'd share.
What If: Shinji is Takumi's brother? What if Shinji is Takumi's brother, who was taken by his mom when she and Bunta divorced and thus is using her original surname Inui instead of Fujiwara.
His similarities with Takumi are astounding. Both are child prodigies in racing, both are driving AE86 Trueno's. hatchback for Takumi and notchback for Shinji, both are good at telling a driver's skill at a glance. oh and Shinji seems to be showing up at the last minute to represent sidewinder, this mirror's Takumi showing up at the last minute during his early races in the manga
His mom's hesitation for him to face Project.D in the downhill battle makes me feel that she knows who Takumi is and is trying to avoid a race between the two brothers.
Shinji's also in the opening theme for 5th Stage along with his 86, though his face is still hidden. They rarely show a character in the OP unless he/she is that important.
What are your thoughts?

| Yeah I seen this a while ago but the thing with Shinji's mom is that she was telling him to go race because he didnt want to because there was something on tv he wanted to watch amd she got pissed at him and ordered him to go race. But he might be takumi's brother for all we know, we will have to wait and see amd did you notice that in the opening scene that Shinji's 86 coupe is in the exact same spot that takumi's was in first stage? Only difference is that takumi's 86 was hidden a bit over the hill but Shinji's was on top | |

| i mean bunta has said when they first went to kangiawa that here is where the real challenge starts, either implying that bunta knows there has to be a racer like tak with a stubborn mother like shinji, or just saying that the racers are just really good out there. it is a lil creepy how similar they are ivy i see where your coming from and im pretty sure bunta says to natsuki that they haven't put up a tree ever since his mother left.... that was in the third stage i believe.....hmmmm | |
