| It's less the race itself being disappointing and more the ending just being plain bad to me. The race was great, I can't wait to hear what music they choose. | |

| On Netflix, it has initial d 1st,3rd and 4th stage. It's really annoying that they show a clear fifth stage picture where the fd did a Spurt and Runawaayy came on (yes we ask know what I'm taking about) But it doesn't exactly give fifth stage episodes yet Damnit Netflix | |

| Netflix has 4th stage.
I would google the other stages but I have one issue: I need proper subtitles.

I would google the other stages but I have one issue: I need proper subtitles. What do you mean "proper" subtitles? I mean depending on the group who does it they are all a little different, but usually all pretty good. Shouldn't be an issue, wasn't for all of us who have watched all of Initial D

| ^I felt like Funimation's dub and subtitles were really similar so I followed along really well. | |

| No 2 subs will ever be the same, I don't think any of them are perfect.
Honestly the first subs I found nearly over 10 years ago made the most sense to me, Have seen tons of different subs of first stage since the and all are a little different.
If your going to let that be the reason you don't watch Initial D....then I don't know what to tell you.

| Isn't it impossible to perfectly translate Japanese to English? I'm not entirely sure, as I know little Japanese.
I would also agree with Donnie; you watch Initial D because it is Initial D, not for perfect sync between the dub and the subtitles.
With the dub, I would believe some lines and phrases would have to be cut out due to the time when the characters are speaking. In Japanese, a phrase could be said very quickly while in English it could be much longer. They would be forced to change that phrase around, thus losing the exact wording.

There are just some things that the english language does not have words for and that goes for other languages as well. For example, a single japanese term can describe a very elaborate subject while in english you would have to specifically describe the subject multiple times. Not to mention having to translate the use of slang. It also works both ways, but in most cases you'll just hear a horrible pronunciation of the english word. After taking japanese in high school as well as watching anime daily i can sometimes point out the difference in the subtitles. I'll hear a term, know its exact meaning, and read a completely different translation in the sub. But given the circumstances the alternate subtitle flows better with whats going on in the anime. I cant imagine all fan subs to be perfect, unless you're fluent in both languages. Try watching a fast pace visually appealing anime, its a pain in the ass to read subtitles because a single term is described more in english which means a lot to read in a short amount of time, on top of also trying to visually pay attention to everything else.

| I do enjoy the show, but i only have like a 60% hearing accuracy with television and movies, which is why I want the subtitles. I tried watching stage 1 episode 1 (funimation dub) on youtube, and had no idea what the hell they were saying. | |
