Nah there has to be 14 at least because the Sidewinder races (plus the anticipation towards the Final race) cannot be done in just 2 episodes...

Low budgets will do that. Especially when they're expected to make expensive CGI animation along with the episodes.

If you didn't already know, there is a parody of Initial D called Densha De D. It is Initial D but with trains... choo choo.
Here is the TAKUMI VERSUS SHINGO Battle. I laughed so freaking hard at the ending.

Ok guys heres the next release dates incase some are still eaiting or havent posted yet.
Episodes 9&10 - Friday, March 8th, 2013 Episodes 11&12 [Final] Friday, April 12th, 2013
Sadly i think there will be only 12 Episodes of fifth stage is what im seeing on the list Episode 12 will be the fibal for fifth stage you guys so short

I don't see Initial D ending in episode 12. Even the manga hasn't finished yet! dafuq!? To put it in actual perspective, Episode 9 is starting from chapter 581. The manga right now is at chapter 700. Thats 120 chapters left to cover. Four more episodes would mean 30 chapters per episode. If that happens, the Shinigami race (one of the longest in D history) wouldn't even last 1 full episode. If this happens then it's really a shame.

I know im not seeing how this is going to cover the shinigami race and also hojo and kasuke are bearly in the second round if there race in the manga version im ready but the list said final for episode 12 so really im up i the air with this plus ive notice all these battles are short compaired to the manga

The actual untranslated manga is just about ending the 86 vs 86 race but it's not JUST the races, it's the character reappearances, the wrapping of loose ends, the overall conclusion to a series that has lasted 18 years in its entirety. They cannot do that in such a hasty manner unless they WANT to kill off Initial D after all these years and give it a less-than-acceptable ending

^^^ I agree that they just want to kill it off which im not happy with but i dont know why i get the feeling that they may make a movie like they did with third stage but thats just a feeling and i highly doubt it but it would be awesome if they did that tho IMO

The last 2 races will happn they just can not exclude them from this stage maybe they will extend the time limit for the last two episodes instead of being 30 mins might be and hour special MAYBE its just a thought either way im happy how this season is going just sad that its so short and already close to an ending
