I thought there needed to be a thread about this kind of stuff. Let me start off with this. I am planning on spending about $600 - $750 to build a new pc this summer. Can I stream console games in 480p with a setup costing around that much while doing web browsing with 2 screens? I am not concerned about gaming that much, as my current "rig" can play games at pretty good FPS. Also, Can I get away with 720p streaming with this?



How about this for streaming SOMETHING with out lagging that badly?

You can stream with 1 Mb upload even with 720 p with the right settings, but you don't want to web browse at the same time and stay away from anything using more bandwidth. Basically you can stream with good quality on that low of upload speed if you don't use any other bandwidth lol

For streaming and video capturing you want to have a good amount of RAM, maybe like 6 would be nice, also a good video card IS necessary. Of course you want decent parts for everything else.

Btw when using Xsplit, take the preview down to 10%, then it uses alot less computer power to display the video and makes your computer run alot faster

I have taken down the preview to 10% and it still lags bad. I have heard people saying that OBS doesn't eat as much computer as Xsplit does. Should I switch to that?

Test it out, not sure off the top of my head lol

I have been experimenting with XSplit a bit lately and I got my streams to work with very little lag. Going to stream a bit later.
