We all have our own ways when it comes to driving & tuning. But with the touge I get stuck.
I can drift anything rwd, and tune it within 20 minutes on a simply base outline.
Currently for racing my base tune for all RWD cars is;
28.5 PSI front & rear. 25/15 on the diff.
I can't touch anything else as I always ruin it.
Can someone help with a basic outline for me to try for the springs & dampness. I know the tuning guide is good & gives out free tunes BUT, il never know what to look for when it comes to building my own.
Will happily do a touge AE86 tune in return ( there is already one on my YouTube )

No problems bro, just need to know what to do and not to do! Let me know when it's up so I can have a good old read.

Well springs and dampers depend on the car. If a rwd is to twitchy try softening the rear settings. Rwd usually oversteers a lot with hard rear settings
Another approach is gearing. You need short gears of course but if theyre too short the car will snap over from clutch use

I can do the gears, that's easy.
What about rebound settings ?

So, use sport springs and ARB?

Hmmmm. So I presume I'm best off ( if I have to ) soften the rear in small amounts to notice the difference ?

Or do the opposite. Try max and minimum stiffness se what changes then 50% of both then decide which you liked better and put it on either 25 or 75 percent then repeat this with shortening areas of the adjustment bar till you hit the sweet spot. And then unbalance it a little. With stiffer front then rear.
If you know what i mean: youre pretty smart cause i lost it at one point xD

My general tuning goes like "make the driven end as soft as possible, the fine tune the other to satisfy balancing needs." Of course, I'm slow as balls.

I actually have my civics rear pretty soft as well and stiffer up front to reduce unersteer and oversteer all in one

I use a tuning calculator in excel to help optimize a base and edit from there. Its served me pretty well so far. It's mainly for circuit tunes but it helps put the suspension where it needs to be IMO
