| Here's my new baby: 2015 Ford Fiesta ST Has a 1.6L EcoBoost inline-4 turbo that puts out 197 hp & 214 lb-ft of torque @ 21 psi! Also has a 6 speed manual and Recaro bucket seats. Only weighs 2742 lbs (1246 kg) so it's a freaking BLAST to drive. It's as fun as a Scion FR-S on the street, maybe even funner since I can sit my whole family in the car lol Still got my 300ZX too.

| When it comes to a car such as the Ford Fiesta, I always take the 3 door over the 5. Just looks better to me. But regardless, that fiesta is a nice looking car. And a very good buy. If it drives anything like my old focus did, then you will have a blast with it. | |

| Awesome car, Kraze! I was actually considering one of those until my insurance said no (rate wise) to a new car. Let me know how it is!
also, lol at license plate on 300.

| Hey guys, got a question about an upgrade I want to get for my Impala.
The part in question is an intake system called the Secret Weapon Air Intake by Weapon-R.
What kind of power gain could I get by installing it?

| @Ialyrn - The Fiesta ST only came as a 5-door to North America because otherwise I would have opted for a 3-door too but hey it is what it is. At least the U.S. version puts out 15 more horsepower than the European edition - lBrawnyemperoRl wrote:

Thanks man I had options for colors (white, red, black & green) but I just couldn't pass up this beautiful blue hue it's stunning up close. And Obelisk, an air intake's horsepower upgrade varies with engine models but on average you could get at least 5hp, up to 10hp if lucky. More so if it was a turbo.

| Awesome pick up kraze, they are such funs cars man. I would've personally picked up an FRS/BRZ but thats only because I've owned a FWD car these past 8 years and i don't plan on having kids anytime soon.

| I couldn't even make an FR-S a choice because they sell for at least $28k here which is way above what I could afford. Luckily Ford really made a great car for an even greater price. It's even cheaper than the Hyundai Veloster Turbo by a good margin. | |

also, lol at license plate on 300. Your current insurance said no to you getting a newer car, which is both safer and less likely to be stolen by a joyrider (if like the European version, then it will have a built in alarm and engine immobilizer). That is messed up, and if I would you I would change your insurance company.

I have to get my insurance rate down, because it was like 2k a year before my accident, and now they surcharged it and it's 4k for a car that's now $1500 in value. If I buy a new car, my rate would go through the roof (which is what I meant by my comment earlier).

| I currently have one of these out on rental, and it is sooooooo nice. Wish I had the money to buy one. The model I have rented, is a 1.6 duratorq diesel TDCi. It dont half shift though, even with the small capacity. And given the size of the car as well. I could certainly see myself buying a 3rd gen focus if I had the cash to hand, but it would have to be the ST version. | |

My dad's renting a Focus SE with the FlexFuel engine this week while he's in Baltimore. So far, he says it's a great car but he'd buy one in manual instead.

Hey, is the clutch light or heavy? I'm actually going to try to learn stick shift by the end of the semester.

I'm actually going to try to learn stick shift by the end of the semester. errrr...... a bit difficult for me to answer really, because I hadn't really taken notice of the weight of the clutch. Probably because I learnt to drive manual, and that is what all the cars I have ever driven have had. It is the main gear box type here in the uk. It is just something I don't pay attention to. It is pretty much second nature to me, after all, I have been driving stick shift for 9 years. I would say it is light, but that is just me. For someone who has never driven manual, it could seen heavy for them. Plus I have pretty strong leg muscles anyway, which comes from doing lots of horse riding, show jumping and cross country riding. Plus lots of walking and cycling.

| @Obelisk - Most clutch pedals are heavier than the gas but lighter than the brake. The heaviest clutch I've experienced was a ACT Stage II clutch on an '87 RX-7 FC, now THAT was HEAVY. Took all the strength I could muster in my left leg to push it down all the way.
@Ialyrn - Definitely try out the Focus ST, and if cash is an issue, definitely try out the Fiesta ST.

| @Kraze. The car we paid for was a Ford Fiesta, but the car rental place gave us a free upgrade to a focus. Not that I am complaining. Obviously it wasnt the ST version though. Still, I just noticed on the Ford UK website yesterday. That there is now a 3rd gen Focus RS | |

| So guys, just wondering...
I recently found out that the 3400 engine in my Impala (Otherwise known as the LA1) can handle 400 HP on stock components. Is that a good number or is it too low? (Considering the Supra's engine can handle a crapton of power)

| It's only too low if you plan on ramping the power to over 400hp. Since your fixated on this I looked up this site:
http://www.v6z24.com/specs/3400specs
This guy seems to believe in the potential of that engine (it IS a high displacement V6) and it seems that eventually he'll post a guideline to extracting good power from it (see #7):
http://www.v6z24.com/howto/3400/
In the meantime if you wanna educate yourself just google what other people have done with those engines and how difficult and expensive those mods were.

No, this is from the actual ford dealer to buy for the new Focus RS. Though if I had the money, I would certainly buy one. - Obelisk wrote:

(Considering the Supra's engine can handle a crapton of power) If you are thinking of upgrading it, then bad idea. You was complaining only a few posts back about your current insurance on that car. Adding more power into it, will only make it worse. You should just save up your money, and wait a year or two for your insurance to come down. As for what you asked though, 400HP is a good number. The question you need to ask yourself though, is if your car could put that power down as is? Or would it need to have some new shoes and suspension?

Or would it need to have some new shoes and suspension? I think a fresh set of General Altimax RT43s is good enough to handle the power, but I don't know about the suspension. It comes equipped with MacPherson struts as far as I know. By the way, my insurace has a $1,000 limit where I can install anything I want. Beyond that, I'd have to declare it.
