| I just picked up an AE85 with a GTS drive train swap :] Here's my parts lists and plans to acquire over the summer. AE111 Swap w/ 6spd - $1400 Sell 6spd +$500 Tweak'd 20V to SR5 harness w/1zz COP conversion - $540 1ZZ COP - $80 from PnP or freefiddy Coolant Line Relocation Kit *retains heater control* - $350 KYB AGX Rear Struts - $200 TRD/Swift Rear Springs - $250 XTR/XTD/F1 Stage 2 clutch and 9lb flywheel - $200 CX Racing High Rise Header -$300 OBX Racing Dual Exit Exhaust - $350 Fuel Tank - $150 Fuel pump hanger - $50 Fuel Pump (walbro) - $100 MR2 seats/rails - Free Thats roughly 3k to get the car running on a blacktop 20v. The plan is to get the car running in 3 months or sooner depending if I'm paying out of pocket or taking a personal loan out. Bodywork wise, I've got a friend who will widen the fenders, remove the dings, fix a small dent, and prep the car for $1800 which probably won't happen till the car is running. This will be a car that will be driven hard, i plan to take it to as many events as i can afford lol. | |

| This would be even cooler if you made it the Fujiwara AE86. | |

| Wow that looks like a good track car! At least your not tearing up a GTS for that 20v swap, I hate it when people do that. When it's up and running you gotta post a video! | |

I start work tomorrow, i told myself i would apply for a loan after two paychecks, even if I'm not approved the car will be running in september ;]

| Well in the first post he said it was an AE85 with a GTS swap, I just figured he got confused with the VIN code because many people do. | |

| Yeah that means it is an AE85, in america SR5s had AE86 in the VIN while GTS have AE88 in the VIN. http://www.hachiroku.net/vin | |

| Actually I think it's good that it's an 85/SR5 since you'll be modifying it a lot and racing it, it's better than tearing up an 86/GTS. | |

| That site just tells me my car is an SR5, the equivalent of the ae85 which i already knew lol. I wasn't referring that my car was a GTS, I stated that my car was an 85 in the original post, i was fixing that statement because the car itself was produced in 1986 stated in the title, which does entitle me to call it an SR5 86 in its own gimmicky way. Id like to assume when the official title reads the car is from 1986, that its from that year.
The purpose of my build is to be able to track the car while also being able to daily drive it. Regardless of it was a GTS or not, shell or not, i'm not going to pass up a good deal on one just because you think its a shame of want i want to do with it. Regardless of what motor is in it or what type of sport I'm interested in, the car deserves to be driven and thats what i'm going to do with it.

Who said they thought it was a shame about what you wanted to do with it? Calm down.

| ^Really though, it's awesome that you got a nice AE85 you can thrash around on the track. Maybe if you build it up enough, you can make it a full touge car as well as a hybrid track/road car. | |

| Who said i was upset? I'm just saying i doubt you would be able to convince someone to sell their GTS for an SR5 so they can build it in to a track car so they can save a GTS somehow. - StrawberryGL wrote:

You were insinuating thats its shameful to tear up a GTS. I still don't see where you guys think i'll be tearing in to anything for the build that i'm doing. With what i'm doing, i'd be able to revert the car to the original state after i'm done with everything.

| I never insinuated anything, I legitimately thought it was nice that you had a clean shell that you can modify and race all you wanted. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with replacing all the parts in a GTS with racing parts and driving the crap out of it, it's just a colossal waste of a rare car and the buyer's money to me. Once again, calm down. | |

| I still don't see why you think I'm upset lol. If its rare car, does that mean no one should drive it?? I hope you know that any money invested in to any car is a colossal waste. Thats why everyone in the automotive culture refers to their car as a money pit, what you are getting out of your investment is just self satisfaction no homo. | |

| I think you're upset because you're getting defensive and putting words in my mouth. I never said that I think it's a shame what you're doing to the car. I never said it doesn't deserve to be on the road. I never said that no one should drive rare cars. I never even thought those things, so stop pretending I said them. I wanted to say that I thought it was cool that it was an SR5 as a compliment. I guess I won't do that again.
