Well while this is up, i am officially partnered with GT Channel as of 2 weeks ago.
I got super lazy to do the paper work which is why it took me so long lol

Not to bump an old thread near pointlessly, but I was contacted by the CEO of GTChannel last week looking for new channels to partner with. Now, I didn't remember GTChannel at first so I went through the partnership page...And I have to say, I don't agree with what they do with their partners (Ads...bleeech. Promised myself never to have ads on my channel. Build channel? I can do that by myself. Make money? I have a job lol) so I turned them down. I have a feeling that someone or another might want to tear my face off after reading this, but everyone has preferences and goals, and I'm sticking to mine.

Always good to stick to his own convictions. Cant have people that twist and bend (over) for any opportunity. Id rather tear their faces off xD

I think the only time I may ever have an ad on a video is on Drive with Pride, since it had copyrighted music.

Networking plays a key roll in to building an audience for your channel now a days.
You can not build a successful youtube channel the same way people did it back in 2007 by just uploading content and expecting people to randomly watch it.
I don't have any disagreements with what i have with GTChannel, from what i've seen, they know all the keys to holding a successful channel.
By "build a channel", they mean build your audience by featuring you to their many followers and as well as helping make it better.
By "make money", they see potential that you could actually be profitable, not that their forcing you in to a job.
What they ask of me is 30% of what I make in youtube profit, its not like i make a lot of money from youtube anyways but that is paying for the networking my channel needs and that is what is getting my channel recognized.
What they are doing is giving you an opportunity to make you channel better.
And there are plenty of videos that i have made that have copyrighted music, but if the video is good enough they still feature it regardless of not being able to make money off of it.
Why did i go with GTChannel? because i think they have a good taste in the automotive field and i feel like they are the best suited to feature the forza content that i produce.

I still don't feel like it's the right thing for my channel. I just want to earn my subscribers the hard way. It makes me feel better about having those subscribers, and gives me the satisfaction that they chose my content to be in their subscription box of their own will, instead of following a link to the video from a network.


Also, 30% seems a bit of a hefty cut of profit.

What are you on about?
Being partnered with GTChannel doesn't mean someone will automatically like your content lol.
Just because someone follows a link to a video doesn't mean its an automatic subscription...
There is no difference in the subscribers, people subscribe to a channel because they like the content, meaning they still subscribe from their own will...
Plus you can't chose who can subscribe to your channel, thats straight narcissism right there, why have a public channel in the first place then?

30% is too much? i don't think you understand how the system works...
Without the network behind the video you will make considerably less than the 70% compared if you were to get 100% profit doing things on your own.

Okay for example, the latest video i uploaded, "Drift Horizon" got under 100 views with in the first 4 days of release.
After being featured 4 days after i was at 1,500 with 25 more subscribers.
I couldn't have done that on my own, without whoring the video out on social media to my friends and family, which i absolutely hate doing, most of which who could careless about the content that i put out on my channel.

Granted you will not get a check from youtube unless the view count amounts up to $100 and granted 1 view amounts to about $0.001.
So if you are not getting 100,000 of views on your own, which you are not, you are not making any sort of money, so what loss is there?

So until I am steadily making at least 100k views per video, I am sure to stay and let GTChannel feature my work.

I think I'll just drop the topic since we're both not understanding each other.

Edit: Because I'm so fickle, I've asked the CEO if he could tell me the details of the partnership beforehand.

Let me ask you this, why do you give your social security to any legitimate employer?

For one, I highly doubt that the CEO would contact you directly, they have mangers in charge of the YouTube division, like once partnered you get assigned a contact who you can ask questions and talk to about GTChannel.

Two, they won't need your social if your not going to partner, they might not even need it at all, I don't remember giving mine when I sent my contract

I already set up an account with them, so I just need to fill the tax form and my parents are freaking out about whether or not it's legitimate.

Go do your research on GTChannel before you start trying to bad mouth them for using normal youtube partner policies...

Let's ignore that part. My mother is freaking out over nothing, as she seems to think GTChannel is a scam, even though an hour's worth of research has turned up nothing.

Also the 30% they take is actually really good for YouTube partnerships, most companies take way more

I won't answer those questions since I've already decided to ignore my ignorance and look into GTChannel.

As we're talking, I'm waiting for approval from my parents to give the channel my SSN for the W-9.
