Evo vs. FD: Amazing (RUNAWAY)
Miata vs. AE86: Holy god this is awesome
MR-S vs. AE86: Pretty good
Supra vs. FD: Ehhh
FD vs. 350Z: Decent
S15 vs. AE86: At least the wings were cool

| i dunno I say hold off judgement till English dubs appear it seems though that the earlier races could of had more girth to them but i dunno how closely their stinking to the manga but i do like it so far I can't imagine it topping stage 4 though that would be pretty tough | |

| Warning: Wall of text - Spoiler:
Evo vs FD - Only one that properly followed the manga (plus RUUUNNNAAAWWWAAAAAYYYYY!!!!! was epic).
NB vs 86 - Disappointed that two things weren't portrayed: 1) Omiya actually used the gutters at one point in the race and 2) I wanted to see the wing hit the sign and break off.
MR-S vs 86 - The minute the race started getting really good, it was over. Three things weren't mentioned: 1) Kogashiwa hit the guardrails/wall three times during the race when trying to catch up and 2) Kogashiwa began drafting behind Takumi at the second straight and 3) I could clearly see a guardrail in the point where Takumi Fujiwara-zoned and Kai did a 360 because "He chose to attack where there were no guardrails."
Supra vs FD - My favorite race in the manga but only meh in 5th Stage. Things not mentioned: 1) Both Keisuke and Minagawa kept their foot on the gas and braked with their left foot (basically going full-throttle the whole way), 2) They were burning the tires so bad that Kobayakawa (the Evo driver) could smell them.
Z33 vs R32 - Didn't expect this scene to turn out so cool but I really liked it. However, why the hell did they put an ACTUAL ghost in there?, that didn't happen in the manga and was pretty creepy to be honest.
Z33 vs FD - The fog looked cool I'll give them that but the Eurobeat song they chose for the race was meh... they could have done better. Dat sound, I didn't realize Ikeda used the same L28 Twin Turbo engine that the Devil Z uses lol.
S15 vs 86 - Holy shit that song was epic! I stayed in my head for a full week lol. I knew the race was going to be short but this time they didn't make it even shorter like the other races (thank god). The wings looked cool as hell (that first appearance was magical) but I was disappointed that the wings weren't shown when Takumi late-braked for the hairpin (which btw was a very anticlimactic heel-toe, not a SUPER-ULTRA-LATE-BRAKE as I thought), but instead they were later shown post-race as a mini-flashback... lame. I expected Takumi's enormous wings to act as imaginary air brakes lol
R32 vs FC - This race took a whole year to be published in the manga. ONE FULL YEAR. If they wrap this race up in just 1 episode I am going to rage... Hard.

| ^agreed. To tell you the truth i'm pretty disappointed in the quality of 5th stage, its just nice that we're getting closure for what we've been wanting for the past 5 years. | |

| After rewatching the earlier stages, First Stage was nearly perfect, it followed the manga religiously (with the exception of Ryosuke's race being AFTER the Mako/Sayuki race). Second Stage was short but it covered almost everything. Third Stage was a movie but the fact that it only covered 2 races allowed for lots of space to put in the rest of the story (not as accurate as the first 2 stages but... dat CGI! haha). And then Fourth Stage followed the manga precisely with the exception of TWO things: 1) Three of Keisuke's races were omitted (ER34, DC2, and AE86 Levin) but Battle Stage 2 fixed that at least, and 2) God Arm's race was before God Foot's race. The fact that Fifth Stage is 35% story, 50% Ryosuke talking, and only 15% racing unsettles me. If the overall quality was better I wouldn't complain but it's obvious that they are animating this in the cheapest way possible to get this show over and done with after fans have been waiting for 6 long years... The ONLY thing that could fix this would be a Battle Stage 3 with the races in detail but I seriously doubt that would happen. | |

| I really liked them, was pretty intense, if 12 is the last episode, not sure how they are going to fit everything.

| actually to me those 2 episodes could have the fujiwara zone as a metaphore for the whole 5th stage so far its been going pretty nice but this battle warps the stage around the next few hairpins | |

That's because it was a boring race in the manga. Hey they tried I guess. The slight bits of carnage were cool. That's about it lol

| I know this controversy but i believe the FC isn't superchargered since i read thru the manga and didnt recall reading that but in episode 9 i did hear some "whining" from the engine, and I'm also not sure if the BOV is from the GTR or the FC
I know theres speculation from when Ryosuke called Matsumoto about an upgrade. When Ryosuke asks him about an upgrade, Matsumoto then says" so your thinking of upgrading the 86 with a super charger" then tells him the upgrade is for the FC.
This could be portrayed in 2 ways, Ryosuke asking for a supercharger or just asking for an upgrade in general.
The misconception was that Matsumoto was assuming the upgrade was for the 86 so the next possible upgrade would be a supercharger.

| ^Makes sense, I assumed the FC was supercharged because of that conversation also, plus the whining made it a tad more obvious although it wasn't explicitly stated in the manga. | |

| I can't wait for the subs, best races yet so far, but i'm biased because it's the FC. Hearing Dave Rodgers again was amazing too! Everyone thought I was stupid for insisting the FC wasn't supercharged . Supercharging a rotary is a bad idea in the first place. | |
