A group in my school got 56 people signing up but only 8 attended.

i sold the car in anger and noticed i forgot to save the tune before i do. so whatever happens even if i could stay at home i couldnt compete anymore

If you can't make the first qualifier it's not big deal. There is a second qualifier on Saturday 7/27/2013 from 3-4pm CST.

If you can not make either qualifiers you can still enter the race, but you will be starting in the back of the pack.

The race is Sunday 7/28/2013 at 7pm CST.

Despite my efforts it seems that I'll miss out on this qualifier as well Only way for me to attend is if it's tonight instead of this afternoon. But I don't mind starting from the back if it comes to that.

That would have put you in the lead so far, but unfortunately you will have to start in the back of the pack since you won't be making this qualifier either. I'm sure you'll still do awesome in the race though 'cause that's a super fast time.
