| Slapped some Megan's on my gen coupe and it looks goooood lol they're not noisy and they ride very smooth. I'll get some pics up when I get the chance. Anyone else have any experience with these? Just curious | |

| No experience with them other than everyone on zilvia bashing anyone who buys a set. I'd say not a bad entry coilover but I would recommend stance coilovers hands down. When I had these on my 240 I was literally on the ground and they still rode great and had plenty of droop travel in the rear w/helper springs.
I bought a set of BC racing coils for my coupe since everyone said they were so awesome and they are like cut springs compared to stances. I couldn't get any damping setting that would work. Either it would be rock hard and I would slam on even a pebble or it would be so soft I'd bounce up and down the street if I hit a little bump.
But if you do have a genesis coupe, try to stay away from this whole "hellaflush" jazz. Don't slam it so much you won't be able to drive anywhere and get some wheels and tires that fit and aren't stretched to hell. Don't cheap out on wheels(no xxr/rotas).
I only say this because I see the stance scene starting to move on to a more function>form movement. Alot of cars rocking huge GT wings, insane front splitters and big meaty tires on nice modular wheels. I mean I could be wrong but I can speak from experience, driving around super slammed and not being able to go anywhere because you'll scrape or get stuck sucks. You'll enjoy your car and have a lot more fun if you focus on handling than looks.

| Wait, people lower their car so far that they get stuck or can't drive in certain places? I couldn't even imagine that... | |

| Yeah seems pretty silly to me. Never understood this whole stance/hellaflush hype anyway | |

| I remember I used to love having a slammed car and scraping everywhere all the time. But I'm over it now. I enjoy not having to avoid ants in the road so I won't scrape. And I don't remember one girl who was happy to take a 30 minute longer trip because there were roads I just couldn't go on.
But it does look cool as fuck and sometimes that matters more than functionality

| I think cars that are lowered enough can be just as cool while still being functional. There's no need to be a centimeter off the ground, once it's lowered to a certain point it doesn't get any more stylish by going even farther.
I guess that's me though. My Z sits unbearably high at the moment so i'd like to put new springs on it. The problem is i'm trying to decide if I should modify the 280ZX or save up for a 240z or an FC and work on one of those.

| @strawberry saving up for an FC should definately be worth the while
240z are nice too though give me one of those and would make a devil Z replica even enginewise

| Megans are meh, definitely not the best but theyre ok for being a cheaper coil I wouldnt do more than daily driving on them. Be sure to have set a preload on the springs.
I wouldnt say the stance scene is moving towards function>form. Stance is stance regardless of function or form and its always been that way, the japanese have been doing both for decades now. 90% of the the stance scene are all show cars, the "pretty" stuff you can say. I own a 4 speed auto GT celica, its quite an investment to get the car relatively fast and id rather buy another car for that, so it wouldnt hurt if i built the celica form>function. My next car will be a good mixture of both.
I say build your car accordingly to how you want to build it knowing the consequences.
What seriously pains me is when i see people running air ride suspension on the new FRS/BRZ's or on EVO's and STI's

Believe it or not, in Texas 240z's are much more common than S5 Turbo FC3S's, it's going to be a pain to track one down.

| I think the old fairladies are much easier to find than an FC. Used car websites are crwaling with all kinds of Z but barely offer any FC's even a decently conditioned FD is hard to find and if they are so daaamn expensive.
Since i truely want a keisuke and a takumi 1 on 1 replica i gotta save a whole truckload of cash first xD

| That's a nice goal to have, i'd build the AE86 first because it's cheaper and makes a better daily driver. Well...you'd have to find an S2k engine or something to match the horsepower and max rpm so I guess it wouldn't be a perfect daily driver. | |

| I have BC racing BR coilovers in my levin, and cusco zero sport 2Ā“s in my gc8 wrx sti, and i have to say that bc aint bad at all compaired to cusco or even tein coilovers which i also had. I found easily correct settings for daily and track use. Id recommend BCĀ“s for anyone Even d2 coilovers can be used at trackdays. I lower my cars as low as i can without sacrificing daily use too much, and becose some tracks here in fin are bit bumpy too. | |

I'd rather rebuild the exact engine from the show just limit it to like 9,500rpm max to keep the maintenance as low as possible for a high revver probably starting off with the FD though. theyre are way cheaper to get here in germany than a decent and especially real trueno 86 gt-apex

| Uhhh I know now dome of u feel. After installing new suspension on my car I had to be very carefull with speed bumps. Not only that. The springs were hard so I felt every rock. And it was a pain some at first getting over a speed bump without stalling the car or peeling out. Cleaning the intake was a pain too. But after I got use to it it was worth it. |

| Are you assuming every panda 86 is a replica of takumi's car?? Takumi's car was basically stock bodied except for fogs and the watanabe's which is a very clean original look even before ID released.
I mean i guess it would be a bit weird to see a dingle cam in one that says fujiwara tofu on the side or a CF hood and headlight with a 16v but other than that i dont think it would be a bother.
