Hey, Impalas are sweet. I used to drive a '94 Impala SS daily a few years ago. Now it just sits on the side of the house though, haha.

| Yeah figured but not many power getters out there for impalas. How about any ideas for less expensive power mods | |

| a bigger intake manifold and a bigger throttle body you would have better throttle response and more power. im sure they make headers and a magna flow exhaust for your car too. should be a whopping 50 to 60 horse maybe even more with all those parts. | |

| Hhhmmm. Is not a v8 so I don't recommend supercharging it. Get some straight pipes with a magnaflow exhaust ( ask what inches are recommended for your size engine don't wanna do to much) Headers and knn intake to start. And like king pretty much. You may also need to instal a better chip after upgrades. And if your really gonna push it a bigger radiator. I use to have a 93 Chevy with a 3.6 and I did some what the same. Ff |

| But if you really wanna bolt it a small supercharger would be good. But remember if you do that you also gotta re enforce the engine but I think they sell complete kits with all you need so u don't kill the engine. |

| If you know of a sister engine with similar specs but came boosted from factory you could yank it out of a junker for less than $50. | |

| NA engines are kinda picky with the exhaust size yes, but turbo engines arent, the bigger the better And yes also headers make huge difference in higher horsepower stages. | |

Yeah i'd definitely go with that. Here in Texas first gen MR2's go for around 2k... - bigfoot wrote:

Or that. Anything that improves gas mileage and makes you faster is awesome.

| You'll be pleased with the exhaust and intake. That will give you a little bit better throttle response.
If it were me and I had a little extra cash...I'd throw some better spark plugs, ignition wires, coil pack, intake, header, and exhaust. Then if I was still below budget I'd go with a wider TB and possibly throttle body and intake manifold spacers. You'll definitely have better throttle response with those. On top of that since you'll have significantly more air intake and spark..you'll probably want some more fuel so then I'd start looking into bigger fuel injectors and possibly some better fuel/oil lines (steel n' braided).
^If you shop in the right places, you can do all of this for under a grand.^
You may already have this, but if you could afford it I'd go with some wider wheels/stickier tires. After all this in a year or so if you still want more out of the car then I would start looking into porting your intake mani and head then start researching forced induction for your car. Check out impalaforums.com for a bunch of info on DIYs and performance mods.
