Thought i'd try something different here...I'm sure alot of you remember these kinds of books from when we we're kids.
Select a Choice from below each installment, and the jouney will continue on, or will it?
First to respond with a choice gets it, but i'll be avoiding the use of the same persons response twice in a row.
I'm going to decide on "the end" selections before i post them, so choose wisely!
If the story ends ill give one more chance to select from the previous chapter....
but 2 game overs and your heros story is done, and ill start a new heros story from the begining.
Hope you enjoy!
STORY 1
The Old Touge Master
Chapter 1 - The Masters Weapon
Awake again, but you can't say it's morning. Your old bones arise, and you commence with your usual daily rituals, preparing you to face the day. You peer deep into the voids of your own eyes in the bathroom mirror, and ask quietly the question you've asked every morning for the last 10 years.
"Who are you?'
Every day the same answer comes forth, "I am the fastest, I am the will of the mountain."
Now in your 60's, no one is sure of how you drive so fast, so fluid, so frighteningly quick. Only those who know the truth could guess a frail old driver controls such amazing speed. However these knowers of truth are few and far between, you rarely run the pass anymore, and when you do it's even more rare a racer gets to meet you. 10 years ago you reached a point where no man could eclipse your shining star, and no potential student could reflect your shining thoeries....you disappeared into the deep mountain forests to ponder away your remaining days. You continue to exsist now only as an enigma, a racing god quietly resting in weathed skin.
"I am the fastest, I am the will of the mountain."
This particular day, this particular phrase of your peculiar ritual ignites something inside you. That special something that warms you... tonight, you race. You feel so complete in your thoughts of racing this brisk fall evening, you forsee with ease it will bring closure to your legend, one way or another. You hasten towards your garage. You lift the door with no stuggle, and bask in the beauty of what sits behind the ugly rusted steel wall. You reach into your right pocket and pull out a key, sliding it into the door lock. You open the door of your unbeatable touge monster, tuned to run the downhill like no other that has come before it.
Your Weapon is:
a) 1992 Toyota MR2 (sw20)
b) 1987 Nissan Fairlady Z (z31)
c) 2001 Honda S2000 (ap1)
d) 1998 Mazda RX-7 (FD3S)
e) 1992 Nissan Skyline GT-S

Chapter 2 - The Sky Lined With Clouds
The RB26dett roared to life at the will of it's master, humming gently at idle as it shakes of the dust of the dark garage. You pull out and take off, leaving your quiet home shrinking behind you. With the sun setting on the horizon you see the weather begin to shift, and you know the rain will surely fall this night. No bother. After a easy cruise up the hill, you crest the peak and pull around to the parking area. Empty lot, as usual. You park up and close your eyes for a moment, you find your mind in the perfect domain. Suddenly your eyes open them selves, and your ears pick up a faint sound in the distance...a sound you know well.
"GTR" you think to yourself with a cracked smile as you see headlights coming into the parking area. However when you turn to look your cracked smile turns whole as you see no GTR, but an S15 in its place. Right away you feel and see his aura, almost a mirror of your own. No more time is needed to spend on thought, you whip around your mighty R32 and meet the silvia nose to nose, with maybe an inch to seperate them. A flash of lights to the face was all this mysterious driver needed to see, and he pulled off and switched on his hazard lights. You follow quickly behind and match his pace.
"This", you announce to yourself, "will be my final battle, the battle of a lifetime!"
And thus it begins, Twin RB26 powered rear-wheel drive Nissans tear through the calmness of the evening, barreling towards the first corner. Your already glued to his bumper, fully immersed in the mode of battle. Seconds before the first corner you spark to life your battle plans. Chase, and observe of course. You both brake hard into the first corner, and exit cleanly still seemingly connected nose to tail. Again in the second corner and the third. You mimic his every movement flawlessly. Both cars let the rear loose as they floor the accelerator coming out of corner four, giving all they can on the straight steep slope ahead. You smile grows as you see the S15 accelerate away, how could that car be even faster then your own? Now there is a large gap between you and a sharp right sweeper into a short uphill straight followed by a tight left hairpin, what's your next move?
a) brake later then those two guys from tokyo, no way this guy can brake like you, the master.
b) brake early and take an attacking line, exit speed will close the gap for sure.
c) ignore your opponents lead, you're the fastest, just execute.
d) take a deep breath and take the dangerous apex, you've only done it once.
e) fly into the sweeper with a 4 wheel braking drift, show this punk your not scared.
Felon's Choice
Chapter 3 - Any Which Way But Slow
You're the master, remember? You don't need to feel pressured by a little straight away speed. You have speed any where you please.
Feeling no fear you brake hard and turn in early, your R32 carefully slipping out in the rear. With no counter steer to be seen you get on the power and fly through the sweeper, squiting out the other end straight and fast. A gap of about 100 feet still remains, but you blow it off and fly towards the hairpin. You become uneasy when you see the S15 in front of you change his line, but you instantly know why. He sees your drift, and responds with one of his own in the hairpin. He can't match your drift speed, and after a few more corners of high speed slides you find yourself sink back into the Silvia's back pocket.
Once again on even keel, you decide you've showed off enough and decide to save your tires the torture. The S15 seems to have been on the same wave length, returning to the safety of grip. Both cars continue on, faster and faster, and now its the time to test your opponent in these corners. The pavement gets uneven in the next section, and you know every imperfection like the wrinkles on your face. At these speeds any number of bumps could send one of your tires up off the ground. This section starts off with a few S corners sperated by steep downhill slopes, ending in back to back hairpins. You know if you can push him here the Silvia could eat the wall and the race will be decided, but how hard can you push old man?
a) stay synched up with the silvia, stay as close to his bumper as possible.
Tab's Choiceb) sacrifice your exit speed to pull your nose up besides him before the first corner.
c) give him a small cushion, you may need time to react if he doesnt nail it pefectly.
d) give him a small bump, surely no one could recover their rythm in this hectic section.
e) watch only the road, hit the clean lines, no reason to get reckless here
Chapter 4 - The Old Dog's Bag of Tricks
You decide to put your trust in the man driving the silvia, you pace your car perfectly not 12 inches from the Silvia's bumper. It's automatic now, your R32 almost takes it upon itself to match every quiver of the Silvia you hunt. Will he find a safe path though this dangerous touge? Through the first S corner in a flash, flawless. Amazing acceleration and soft braking down the straight into the next set of S corners. Clean in and out of the quick left to right bends again. Going into the hairpins now, so close to your opponents bumper your intake sucks up traces of the exhaust desperate to escape the explosions of the S15's demonic RB26. The silvia brakes hard and dives in fast, but his rear end suddenly jumps from the inside out! His rear tire caught a gnarled piece of concrete that was being reclaimed by a tree's roots, you saw it all clearly. Now is your chance!
You stick your nose in the gap caused by this mistake, but the recovery is quick. Just enough room to get the inside on that left hairpin! R32 and S15 side by side now, but the next hairpin is a right. You know you can never pass this warrior on the outside, but you don't have to give up the small victory so rightfully won! You brake late, knowing your opponent will have to turn in before you. With a timing no atomic clock could match you turn in sharp, putting your nose just ahead, preventing the S15 from having any speed advatage on the exit.
Side by side still, you and your opponent spin the earth a little faster as your tires push off the pavement in union. A moment to relax oddly enough, in this situation your line is your lane, not much else you can do. Matched with the uphill straights and soft bends of this section there wasn't much to think on. You've done well to put this much pressure on your opponent, however you know you haven't won anything yet. Stuck on the outside again before the final downhill sections, you have no choice to back down and fall into the chase, your situation is quite unfavorable as the road narrows. Its then the sky opens, and the rain pours down in sheets! You flick on your wipers with a swiftness the moment the first drop obstructed your view. Nothing will come between you and your prey.
You've got a large sack of tricks there old guy, some of which are a little odd. Thats what makes a true master i guess...of which will you employ?
a) crack the windows and let the rain hit your face like it hits your R32's face, you must be as one damnit!
b) start drifting, its easier to drift the wet road, and you know you drift faster then your opponent who will surely follow suit.
c) kick your shoes off! your acceleration work is unmatched by the presicion of your toes wrapped around the pedal!
d) single handed steer, you've got to keep your rhythm perfect on this slick road.
e) laugh hysterically like a madman until the road appears dry, then drive it as such!
