| I am trying to find the right kinda setup for my 86 but no luck. Seeing people get better than me in such shorter time than me puts me on such a downer can anyone help with some suggestions on what kinda setup I should be using on my 86? | |

| I've found Sport suspension to work great on the 86. As for gearing, brakes, roll bars, diff, and tire pressure, it depends on your driving style If you'd like a specific tune I could tell you mine but I haven't done any faster than a high 4:38 in it though... | |

| If you don't mind me suggesting, i've noticed you driving the MR-S quite a bit recently. The MR-S is a mid engine car, and a fast one at that. It's handling characteristics are very different from an 86, and you might have got used to it rather than the feel of an FR. It's a possibility...I know i'm not a very "versatile" driver, you might be the same.
I've already talked about 86 setups before, so I won't repeat myself. You've reached a level higher than a lot of people in the 86, it's up to you to push it past this point.

| ^Yeah I don't mind since it's not a perfect tune to be honest. My average in it is a 4:40 but even tuned the 86 is a handful to drive even for me. I can send it to you later today when I'm done with homework | |

| ^I know that feeling. Soon people will call Miatas cheap cars like they did with the MR-S and then I'd have to switch cars again | |

hey man yeah ibknow there is no shame in using someone elses tune but just wanted a really good tune to call my own. My c class 86 tune has been very successful and is very fast and manageable on the downhill and it got me 60th spot on the new downhill but with the b class it feels like there is something im missing and dont know what it is and is really bugging me.

- Example AE86 FR tune
Tires PSI 28.5, 28.5 GEARING (all cars may vary) Final Drive of 4.70 usually does the trick ALIGNMENT Camber -1.2 front, -0.8 rear Toe + 0.2 front, - 0.4 rear Caster 2.0 ANTI-ROLL BARS 14.0 front, 10.5 rear SPRINGS 410, 370 Ride height 5.7, 5.7 DAMPING 9.0, 8.0 4.0, 3.5 BRAKING (depends on the driver) i usually use 45%, 110% DIFFERENTIAL (depends on power of the car) 31%, 20%
sport springs arnt bad in a 86. however properly tuned race suspension is quite a bit better. you should also have a race transmition and race roll cage. HP between 164-168 and should weigh about 1,818lbs. if your rear is still 2 loose for you, try not upgrading the exhaust. the race exhaust makes the rear end quite a bit lighter. without race exhaust your car should weigh 1,840ish i believe. Thanks for the advice man I use sports springs, race roll cage, race camshaft and street exhaust and race transmission, driveshaft, and diff. And race tires with max width on both front and rear
