Not rumors, it has been out since 2008. Can't find a full translation about it though.

If i'm not mistaken, he did take out the turbo completely, thus shedding weight. Takumi also runs a heavier engine in his car than a stock 4AG, so he has a heavy 86 with aprx. 240HP, against a lighter 86 with 150HP, it wouldnt be THAT far apart of a match, and the lower powered one would be much easier to drive.
how does this even make sense? that group a motor isnt wayy lighter then stock 4ag if its revving to 11k thats titanium everything in the head and def lighter forged pistons an rods and that crankshaft must be balanced and blueprinted and def used a lighter crank then the stock one look up a formula atlantic 4AG thats more on the realistic side to what tak had in his car!!!

Back to the Gaiden though, I would love to see some Initial D where we learn about Takumi's early life, and maybe even when Bunta was racing. Or even further on so we could have a satisfying conclusion. -____-

Yeah we've known that for a while just read this thread back a bit.
Song is called "Abbey" from Clutcho, same band that did the ending for Fifth Stage. It's like they're replacing M.O.V.E. as the signature music source of Initial D (besides Eurobeat of course).

I heard it was mediocre but the animation was great.
