| So is this game worth giving EA $60? Looks like Underground 3 but is it as fun as we hoped? | |

| ...Didn't we already have a thread for this?
Anyways, I'm not gonna say much but I hope it's worth the $60.

| It's worth. There's soo much touge on here. The only bad thing is the small car list. But I heard all dlc are sappose to b free.

| I've heard from multiple Forza dedicated players that purchased it, that it isn't worth the 60$. | |

Perhaps they don't like the game design, or maybe the small car list is enough to turn them away. Maybe they disagree with the graphics, or that it's an EA published game. Honestly, there are so many reasons to not like a game.

| Had it for about 2 days and just traded it in, this game is trash.
1. There is no stick shift... 2. The Touge game type is racing + drift points... 9_9 3. Physics is complete trash. 4. Drifting sucks and theres nothing satisfying about it. 5. Actors in cut scenes are cheesy as fuck.
This game is only visually appealing, thats about it. The only other thing that caught my attention was the actual touge sections with awesome hairpins but you can't enjoy them because physics... Horizon is everything that NFS 2015 wants to be and it didn't even get anywhere close to it. Honestly, NFS Underground 1 and 2 had more control over the cars than NFS 2015... You can "adjust" the tuning for grip or drift but its so god awful i couldn't help but laugh...
If i were to describe this game, I would probably say that the hipsters of SpeedHunters blog directed it and had a developer who knows nothing about racing develop it and make it within a year with a cheap budget.
Save your money. /thread

| I will wait for EA to drop the price down to £5 or less before I buy it, just like I have with all the most recent need for speed games. I like them for a little fun here an there, but they have rubbish wheel support now. And EA make some outright stupid design decisions, such as no manual gears. And the reason for that, because people would have to change gear to often. Seriously?! lol.
I am sure the game can be fun, but just not what I am looking for in a racing game atm. I would much rather put money into "The Crew Wild Run" expansion. The crew in itself isn't too bad of a game, though a little odd in places. Handling is on par with need for speed, but the wheel support is vastly better. Plus the wild run expansion sorts out the graphics a bit, and a few other things. I played the beta for the expansion also, and it was fairly good.
With regards to need for speed, I lost respect for the series with Carbon. When I can beat the main story of a game in 8 hours or less, it really puts a hamper on my enjoyment of the game. Doesn't matter the genre. And it seriously effects my decisions to buy any future games within the franchise at full price. I always vote with my wallet in this regard.
In my opinion, the first "most wanted" was the last good need for speed game EA released.
My favorite need for speed games in order of most/least:
1: Porsche 2000. 2: Most wanted. 3: Underground 2. 4: High stakes. 5: Need for speed 3: Hot pursuit. 6: Underground 1. 7: Hot Pursuit 2 (had this on the original Xbox, awesome sequel to the original hot pursuit game). 8: Hot pursuit 2010 9: The run. 10: Most Wanted 2012. 11: Undercover. 12: pro street.

| I had quite a few of the old NFS games. I liked Carbon and Pro Street the most. The latter got me back into sim racing. | |

| NFS Hot Pursuit 2 was a huge game for me, the cars plus soundtrack made it amazing. Granted now it looks like a turd but that is def in my top 3 NFS games. I think the First Most Wanted in 2006 was my last NFS game that I played. Never touched Carbon, Pro Street, Shift, anything from then on. | |

I just wait till they go on sale on Origin for a fiver or less now, not paid full price for a NFS game since Most Wanted on the original xbox...... and full price for the exact same game on the 360 also, lol. I was very into need for speed games back then, and the first most wanted was an instant hit for me. With regards to Shift, you really didn't miss out an anything. And shift 2 was a broken laggy mess that SMS never even attempted to fix. Luckily the need for speed modding community on PC tried to repair it. EA blamed SMS, and SMS blamed EA. I am surprised SMS managed to walk away with the "madness" engine, which they used in Pcars.

| Most Wanted '06 was really outstanding. The time it took to really complete the game in all aspects alone is unmatched vy any NFS. Did love the Hot Pursuit 2010 for its online mode though. Rocked that shit | |

| My first NFS was on PC with NFS II SE but once I got a console I loved every NFS that came out on PS2: - Hot Pursuit 2 (great) - Underground (amazing) - Underground 2 (unbelievably good) - Most Wanted (IMO best NFS of all time) Then came out Carbon and the NFS series started going downhill (pun intended), I found the story of Carbon too cheesy and goofy to enjoy the game plus everything was just slightly worse than Most Wanted. Pro Street I actually enjoyed MUCH more than Carbon but to be honest it wasn't an NFS game, same with Shift and Shift 2, they might be a bit fun but in the end if you wanted closed track racing instead of street racing you could have just bought Forza or Gran Turismo instead. Pro Street was my last NFS btw. | |

| Actually I want to add that I recently bought a used PS2 since mine died last year and I'm replaying the original NFS Underground...
Yes the graphics are outdated (it's actually hard to see where I'm going sometimes maybe it's my eyes that got worse over the past 12 years), the physics are purely arcade style (sometimes I randomly spin out on wet tracks with no warning which can piss me off)... BUT this game is still challenging to me. It's still making me drive the best I can within the game and sometimes even going as fast as I can with little to no mistakes I still end up losing races. This game made it REWARDING to win (much more than Underground 2 and Most Wanted now that I recall). That's what makes a game entertaining and replayable a decade later. Modern NFS games are just too damn easy to beat.
