| Just come across this while watching an FH2 video on youtube. Someone linked to a neogaf post, which had a picture of a post Logitech had made on twitter regarding the compatibility of their wheels on the PS4! If this is true, the fuck are Sony thinking? If it is true, it would show that Sony are still lying dicks over their products. They said in their PS4 FAQ blog, that it was up to the game devs to provide compatibility for racing wheels. If they require a security chip, then that is 100% false information. Bravo Sony, you continue to live up to my expectations every single time. And I have been contemplating getting a PS3, GT6, and a PS3 compatible wheel recently. Well after seeing that rubbish, I think I will save my money instead. | |

| Next-Gen consoles have confirmed that the future of gaming is all about getting ripped off. | |

| What makes me laugh the most about all this though, is that Sony have always taken cheap shots at Microsoft for the things they have done with the Xbox. This includes but not limited too, subscriptions to play online and stream from services like netflix, security chips in controllers, paying for timed exclusives of games and content for the xbox platform, and so on. Then the fanboys use it as a means to dis anything that isn't playstation. Yet within a few months to years, Sony then go on to do the exact same things. And those very same fanboys are kissing Sony's arse now for giving them more restrictions. | |

| The G27 is friendly with the PS3, and so is the DFGT. I think a little hacking can be done to force compatiability, but your warranty would be voided. | |

If it was that simple to do, then the G27 and DFGT would already be working on the xbox 360 under the same principle. As it stands you have to use a 3rd party device, which will then only emulate what a standard controller will do anyway. Not to mention those devices still require the default controller plugged into it for the initial handshake between a device and the console. A wheel plugged into it will not function as a wheel either, at least where the console software is concerned. The hardware in the G27 itself isn't designed to work with a security chip either, so a bit of modding wouldn't do any good. Doesn't matter if it is for the PS4 or the xbox platform. What this does mean going forward however, is the older Thrustmaster and Fanatec devices wont be 100% supported on the PS4 either, so people who kept their fanatec setups for the PS4 and GT7/driveclub are out of luck. Both Sony and Microsoft have taken a big smelly dump on wheel owners from the last gen consoles.

| It is really just a case of Sony copying Microsoft by making it a closed off platform for everything. But there was no reason for them to exclude the 360 compatible Fanatec wheels from the Xbox one, even if all they did was provide functionality for the CSR and CSR Elite. The fact that they didn't probably means that they changed the security protocols and hardware too much console side. There is always hope that Microsoft will allow Fanatec to make a new wheel for the X1. As for Sony though, they really need to stick with that they say; especially when they use those things as an excuse to bash Microsoft. It just makes them look stupid when they then copy Microsoft. | |

| Honestly, from what I've learned about both companies, Sony is way more corrupt.
If you ever put a Sony CD or DVD in your computer especially a few years ago, it automatically installs a rootkit which basically would try to stop you if you tried to create too many copies of something or breach any Sony DRM. And once they got caught on it, they simply replaced it with a different rootkit, and they got called out again. And you can be certain they just have gotten better at hiding this since then.
