So does anybody here watch F1? I just caught up on Round 3 at Bahrain International Circuit and damn, it was certainly a good race!
A shame J.Button had to retire on his 250th GP

Bahrain was amazing! As a Hamilton fan it was so cool to watch him defend against Rosberg's attacks. That Mercedes seems to be on par with the 2009 Brawn GP, 1992 Williams FW14, or better yet the 1988 McLaren MP4/4 with how dominant it is, that W05 is easily 2 secs a lap quicker than everyone else.
The Ferrari on the other hand...

I don't know anything about Formula 1. I like the cars, but I don't follow the racers all that much. I'll look into it and do my homework on F1.

I started actively watching F1 just before the end of the 2012 season. Now I've pretty much memorized the entire ~70 year history of F1. Get ready to read books-worth of it yo.

Exactly what I've been thinking, but there's no blown diffuser so I don't think we'll see anyone finding the same pace any time soon! Some brilliant racing from both Hamilton & Rosberg, I don't follow either of them but I'm happy that they fought right to the end, although there were a couple of times where I clenched my butt cheeks from an over eager dive up the inside on turn 1
I haven't watched F1 closely since 2011 and I've always followed Force India so I was happy to see Perez up on that Podium! with Hulkenberg not so far behind.

After all the criticisms of the new rule changes about the "ugly" noses and the "bad" engine sounds I gotta say the Bahrain GP proved all of that wrong. This is much better than the Red Bull/Vettel era. This is definitely a good year to watch F1.
If I were to rank teams from fastest to slowest it would look like this I guess: 1. Mercedes 2. Red Bull 3. Force India 4. Williams 5. Ferrari 6. McLaren 7. Toro Rosso 8. Lotus 9. Sauber 10. Caterham 11. Marussia

I'm already used to the sound and to be honest the cars haven't exactly looked "pretty" for a long time.
As far as ranking is concerned I'd say you've hit the nail on the head, maybe we'll see a change over the course of Shanghai, Catalunya & Monaco.
Hopefully the Lotus' & Sauber's can get some solid races under their belt's so we can see what they are actually made of, Monaco would be the place for any underdogs to shine in previous years, maybe it will be the same this year.

It seems the secret to the W05's dominance has been revealed, very interesting stuff:

Cheers, I can't say I have been on reddit for a long time.
I think I saw the thumbnail for that video earlier and payed no attention, I'll give it a watch, It'll be interesting to see if any teams start mimicking Mercedes.

What makes F1 different from Formula 2 and Formula 3 cars? Is it power output or are there other rules?
Only asking because I heard a GT Academy winner was put in F3.

There's lots of differences in the rules most importantly on the engines. Bottom line is that F1 is faster than GP2 (Formula 2) by like 5-8 seconds a lap and probably 15-20 seconds faster than F3000 (Formula 3). But it's really more complicated than that because F1 has been restricted a lot over the years (especially this one) which makes F1 cars slower than what they could really be.

On a separate note the final 3 laps of the Indy 500 were amazing, too bad I fell asleep somewhere in the first 197 laps.

I'm currently visiting Montreal for the Canadian GP. I'll try to upload some pics next week. For now things are CRAZY. I even saw a Ferrari 599 street race against an SLS AMG in front of my hotel. Looks like it's gonna be fun.

You should get as many as possible! I remember I snagged 500+ photos of cars at a car show once, and there were only 250 cars.
