Dude i cant even get past the first page. Like for real dog? Facepalm. Ay yo. Lets all show that drifting is faster :Dlol Jk.
about half way through page 4 now and im going to edit in this post as to not triple post... Horsepower doesnt mean a win on a circuit either ;D. Even at LeMans the twin chicanes allow for just enough break in speed that cars (like my Porsche gt3 with 415hp) can turn laps equal to a Caddy Coupe (600hp). I have always been a handling guy and i dont come in last ... Theres my two cents lol.

Just reading this gave me cancer.
Spoiler:
Allow me to share some of my insight on this matter of Speed Drifting.
The "Speed Drift" run is more of a highly advanced technique, and it can not be performed unless you have near-absolute control over your car.
Basically, you drift while counter-steering as little as possible. This, when done right, allows for an angle of drift that will actually sling-shot you through any corner using centripetal force and momentum.
^This type of drifting can also only be performed with the ideal balance of Grip/Slip, which is why I utilize racing slicks and the Forza Aero. Basically, the more down-force and Lat-Gs you can produce in a corner, the faster you can take that corner. When done right, this technique will allow you to corner faster than ANY other car, be it AWD, FWD or whatever.
However, this technique as I said is highly advanced, and requires countless hours of practice to master.
I've personally been developing my technique and drift for long enough to account for Gold Level 50, 3 TIMES OVER! And even still, I am finding new lines to follow and new techniques and tricks to improve my lap times.
When i first started drifting, I couldn't keep up with ANY of my friends. But I persevered, and practiced relentlessly. The result of which is now I can match my friend's lap times in veteran racing WHILE DRIFTING! It's what I pride myself with.
Drifting can only be learned through obsessive, relentless practice, and only those who want to learn CAN learn. If you do not have an internal desire to drift, than you can not devote the time required to learn how to speed drift.
Another great way of becoming faster is by continually racing with people who are faster than you. For me, this was my friends. A majority of them hold legit record-times in Rivals, and are some of the top players on the game.
I was able to join into their venerated car club in the beginning because the leader saw my potential and my drifting skills. So he recruited me and I've been racing with them ever since. And slowly but surely, I've been becoming faster and faster and now, I can even give my friends a serious run for their money if I wanted to.
^This is my special driving theory^
Once my guide is complete, it will also bring to light much of what you need to learn in order to "Speed Drift". I'm real excited for it!

"This is my special driving technique" What is gold level 50 three ties over?
Side note and a funny story. I race with this one dude that is bonkers fast. And he actually won a race with 50 less pi while drifting every corner just because he is that fast. It was at Hockenheim i think. 50 laps. Left me scratching my head. Any of yall know Raceboy77?

drifting can be faster, but not consistent.

It might appear to be faster but it isnt. Instead of losing the speed all at once by braking in an effective way he slid sideways and repositioned his car. While he was faster going into the corner his speed at the apex was much slower that it could have been and his exit speed was lost as well. Its kind of an optical thing since he goes into the corner faster. But that was fast in, lit them up out.

allright, hers what ive found out. If you use a drift to slow the car rather than breaking it can be faster if you return to grip at apex. Also when going past the limits of tires you are reducing the amount of friction allowing for the car to speed up under the right conditions(downhill mostly), managing individual tire grip allows for the car to push out entirely to corner extit maintaining more speed the normal. Its all about the line you are approaching from also, and wheel to wheel conditions . I use drifting to occupy the apex and blocking ideal lines.
