| alright guys so i know it'll be about a 10km x 10km sandbox but does anyone know the elevation cap? I know we all plan to recreate all of initial d and similar mountain roads but it would suck if you can only make a section of it because of the height cap. | |

| Like KraZe stated in his post above, we know almost nothing about this feature. I do believe that the area we get to build in will be much larger. I don't know if they will even focus on mountains when the course editor comes about next year. My intentions are not to be a downer here, but I wouldn't get your hopes up for PD to give us a mountainous terrain to edit. | |

| I'm honestly not surprised. I don't think they lied to us, but I think they will take their time with the course editor. Not sure what is taking them so long, though. | |

| Either way, they are taking way longer than they should, we haven't exactly been told a whole lot about the features we have already paid for... | |

That's the problem when they take 5 years to make GT5, the follow up was bound to be nothing more than a tarted up version of it's predecessor

| Yeah thats what i meant 5years in the makin -> still not really playable for several updates and even after that there were flaws
If they do it tha same way with the course maker gt is definately dead for me

| If it comes out and it's like the GT5 editor, that's it for me. :/ I hated being restrained like that. I prefer P2P or long courses, not simple, premade ones. | |

| As far as we know, the course maker was used for Sierra, but is either going to be late or a GT7 feature. | |

| Fuck Polyphony Digital. Kazunori Yamauchi fucked us over with empty promises from 14 months ago. 70% of the cars are still Standard quality and the sounds still suck too. How people honestly believe GT is better than Forza are still beyond me. | |

| I honestly find myself.only playing GT6 just to play something that isn't call of duty.
But isn't Sony pushing PD around for GT7?

| I was excited for GT5 when it came out since I was a huge fan but after 6 months I became disappointed and bored of it, whereas FM4 is over 3 years old now and I still play it. | |

| Didnt even take six months for me to get bored of GT5 same with 6.
GT4 was the last good GT in my opinion. Plus all the cars had the same quality

| ^this i will NEVER consider buying a polyphony digital game again. mostly the reason for me buying gt6 was the promis that the course maker will be released shortly afterwards and what not.
its not like 6 had much more to offer than 5 apart of that

| I just remembered something...
Someone made a comment that went like this: From SRZT Ice on GTPlanet: "I 115.5% agree that they likely had to rework/remake the Course Maker they had from the ground up. PD claimed that the new engine that GT6 is built on is flexible and portable to the PS4. This leads me to believe that GT7 isn’t entirely a port/upgraded GT6, but that GT6 is actually a scaled back GT7 running on an enhanced engine created for the PS4 to handle enhanced graphical, lighting, and other demanding features, yet scaled back to maybe like 30-35% due to the PS3’s limitations. Which if is the case, they had a ready and working course maker on the PS4, the engine was working great with the rest of the game on the PS3 dev kits they were using, so they assumed the Course Maker would port with a little bit of effort. Thus the “close to making it on time for release” and “GT7 could follow after GT6 in as little as a year” etc. statements. They likely overestimated the abilities of the engine they built because it had worked well enough so far and they weren’t expecting it to cap out so fast. The problem likely rests in the fill rate the PS3 can handle and the limitations of the adaptive tessellation to render the on-screen content fast enough. They’ve likely tried everything from reducing track-side objects, to limiting draw distance and are teter-tottering on a trackside object, draw distance, cars per track ratio that the PS3 can manage with an editor of that magnitude. So a revision was likely made and they are now in the Beta of the revised track editor. Which if true, is FINE. If any of my my guesses are true, it is FINE. My only question is WHY DON’T THEY JUST TELL US? Waiting for these features is like waiting for the game to actually be released! It hasn’t gone “gold” yet, and they haven’t even given a release date! I’m glad for those who are enjoying GT6 as is, congratulations, I’m really happy for you, but I and many others are not. End of."
