First DLC pack for Assetto Corsa, which includes a laser scanned version of the ring. And also has the Touristenfahrten as a selectable variant, which means "bridge to Gantry" runs. Assetto may have just taken the crown with this little gem, not to mention we still have the AE86 and GT86 to look forward too at some point in the future also

P.S Dreampack1 DLC is 33% off on steam at the moment, I just pre-purchased it. Only cost me £7.33

You can use an Xbox 360 controller with Assetto corsa, and it has a host of options you can go through to dial it into how you want it. There is a default profile in the controller options for the 360 pad, but I dont know what it is like.

I need to figure out how to make Assetto Corsa work for my laptop because no matter what I've tried the video lags REALLY bad and my graphics card is 2 GB so I'm clueless.

Have you got "post processing" turned on? if so, turn it off. Also, turn down world detail, tire smoke, shadows, and reflections. Custom maps will show in what ever detail the creator made them with, but the Official tracks have LOD management on them.

Also, what anti-virus are you running on your PC? If its Norton or McAfee, 86 that shit asap and just use Microsoft security essentials (windows defender on windows 8.1). Norton and McAfee will bog down a system so much, and they are practically like a virus themselves with how deeply they embed themselves into ones computer. They have practically become AOL, with that almost impossible to remove dial up pc software they used to make.

Its a shame, as Norton and McAfee used to be brilliant anti-virus. Not they are both just massive resource hogs.

I cam vouch for Kapersky. Even if I'm running a deep scan I can run Garry's Mod at 60 FPS.

Mcafee, norton, panda, jasper sky, trend micro - all the major AV programs are resource hogs and only good for those who don't know anything about computers. If you know what your doing, Security Essentials and malwarebytes is all you need.

Also if you try to remove those major AVs, look for removal tools by the maker of the program, typical uninstalls don't remove everything

Such a shame they ended up like that to be fair, I used to use McAfee once upon a time; and it was awesome back then. Especially their firewall at the time. Now though it is just so bloated, and eats up system ram like an all you can eat.

Like you Mind, I just use security essentials and occasionally malwarebytes.

Obelisk, do you have any idea how old the engine is that is running Garrys mod? I used to run the same game engine on a Pentium 2 with an integrated 8MB ATI graphics chip with the first Half Life game. That is how old it is! Even with the Source engine update, the games engine would still run on a potato. Please stop using it as an example of what your laptop can and cannot do.

And yes, I am such a monumental geek that this shit annoys the hell out of me.

Well, I apologize. I can barely run Assetto Corsa, but you did say that the problem was my GPU.

For a better example: I have issues running CoD 4 on my PC, and it stutters and lags when I play single player.

With regards to COD4, that one is entirely on Activision and Infinity Ward. Even now those fuckers are still using the Id Tech 3 game engine (they changed the name to IW engine) which ran quake 3. It needs retiring in all honesty, because it has been modded and expanded to the point it cant cope any more. This is why COD usually has frame rate issues, and why Battlefield often runs better than it. Even with all the issues that BF4 had at release.

With regards to PC gaming though, it is always best to have a proper desktop build. Even though most modern games require a decent CPU like the i5, without a solid GPU behind it; it wont play jack shit. The only CPU with an integrated GPU that can even make a dent in a modern game, is an AMD A8 at a minimum. And that is only if you spend an EXTORTIONATE amount on DDR3 system ram, the faster the better; and 8 gigs of it bare minimum.

As for gaming laptops, there are a few "capable" ones out there. But you need to look at the likes of MSI, Alienware/Dell, PC Specialist, Gigabyte, and so on. You cant go with an off the shelf Toshiba, HP, or Samsung laptop any more; they just wont cut it in the long run.

Thanks for letting me know that. My father and I are going to be building a gaming tower over the summer.

If you need any advise on parts, feel free to ask. Just send a PM so that I get an email.

P.S Dont go with AMD. You need a current Haswell refresh i5 at a minimum, if you want something that will last that is. This is what I would go with just for gaming now if I had the cash to drop.

ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VII RANGER Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) Motherboard (£139.99) (Dont need a motherboard like this, I just like it and has plenty of options.
i5 4690K 3.50GHz Socket LGA1150 (£189.98)
Corsair Hydro Series™ H110i GT 280mm Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (£119.98)
Kingston HyperX Fury Red 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (£99.98)
Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 2.5" 240GB SATA 6Gb/s Internal Solid State Drive (£74.99) (For windows boot drive)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 3TB 64MB Cache Hard Drive SATA 6 Gb/s 7200rpm (£79.98)
MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING TWIN FROZR V OC 4GB GDDR5 (£279.98) (I know about the 500MB of slow ram, the card is still worth it in my opinion)
Corsair CS 850W MODULAR Series deliver 80 Plus Gold (£106.99)

Total = £977.88 (this is including tax and Delivery)

This system would also be decent for video editing also, and photo editing/digital art; as the i5 has strong per core performance. A system like that would last a good few years.

Just to check for conversion issues, this would be $1,470.44 under direct conversion. Is the pricing the same across the water?

You cant take into account the direct conversion of uk stirling to USD, it doesn't match up. PC parts in the USA are cheaper than here in the UK, so price up the parts individually on your end.

Oh by the way, those parts are just the internals. I wouldn't personally go lower than those parts if I was you, as you will only end up disappointed. You still need to add a computer case, keyboard, mouse, speakers, and a monitor to the mix. With those things included, you are still looking at $1000 USD+. I only included the core components because I already have those other things.

You can get a basic case fairly cheap, just make sure an ATX motherboard will fit into it. And also make sure their is a 120mm rear exhaust fan for the Corsair H75 AIO cooler; if you follow the parts list I put up that is.
