I have a hp laptop that can run games really well. Here's a link to the store page. I don't know much about computers so I'm not sure how good it is.  http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=ECC_BUNDLE_4821232&opt=&sel=PCNB#merch-tech-specs

Got a Corsair H75 AIO CPU watercooler today, and the temps are so low; I decided to up the ante.

My cpu is an FX-4300 quad core, stock clock speed is 3.8GHz with a turbo core of 4GHz (turbo core is only a temporary speed increase, and only on one core at a time). I have been running it thus far on the stock AMD CPU cooler with a 400MHz overclock from the base speed of 3.8GHz, which took it to 4.2GHz @1.35v.

So with my new found low temps of around 30°c under full load while stress testing, I bumped it up to 4.8GHz stable @1.51v. After stress testing again, it proved to be 100% stable. That is a full 1GHz over stock clock speed. But the temp was sitting at 60°c, so I have knocked it down to 4.6GHz @1.44v. Current temps while stress testing, at sitting nicely at 50°c. I think if I stuck this particular chip under something a bit meatier cooling wise, such as a Corsair H100 or H110; or even a custom water cooling loop. I really think I could get it to 5GHz. As I have mentioned before, I think I won the silicon lottery with this particular cpu. It undervolts like mad at the stock 3.8GHz. So much so, I can run it at 1.2v at that speed before it becomes unstable. And not it overclocks like it isn't even hard.

How did you get Dirt 3 set up with your H-shifter? I can only get sequential options in my menus.

Its one of the options in one of the menus, I think it is in the one where you can select the Auto/Manual gear options. So probably the assist menu, I cant fully remember off hand.

I uninstalled Norton and replaced it with Avast, switched my graphics settings to optimize performance nearly everywhere, went to Assetto Corsa and turned down every graphics setting to it's minimum, gave it a run and it STILL lags like crazy. I can only make it run kinda decently with the screen resolution turned down to 1280x720 or below. Sad

Next thing to do, is to make sure your laptop is actually using you GPU; and not he intel CPU's iGPU. That is the only other thing I can think of at this point. Your laptop specs should allow you to run Assetto.

How can I make sure it's using the correct GPU?

Should be a similar way of doing it to your system, since it is just using Intel and AMD software. As long as you have AMD catalyst and the latest AMD drivers installed for your graphics chip, it should be as easy as it is in that video.

I dont know what to suggest at this point, as I know for a fact that laptop of yours can handle gaming. I have seen a Y40 with the same specs as yours running BF4 and Watchdogs.
