| This week Lou's oil pan on his 86 started to leak and he ended up throwing a bearing. So he bought a new, rebuilt 4AC, water pump, gaskets, etc... He brought it to our shop to have my dad help us with the swap. We're mechanic noobs, so my we needed his help and it's turned out to be a long, awful, trial and error process. We've had a few leaks and things haven't fit quite right, but we're almost done. Finished the 86 up on Monday, just haven't had a chance to post the pictures, and here they are! New 4AC Old 4AC Junk that was pulled out of the bay, most of it wasn't put back in. WEIGHT REDUCTION! lol Engine bay, most if this stuff was removed, there was a lot of unnecessary wiring and the cruise control unit was broken. Dat 86 doe My dad explaining how to align a flywheel and clutch plate onto the block properly Dropping her in! Setting this back in on the motor mounts was a bitch, also the splines on the transmission didn't want to line up either. All in! the carburetor filter needed to be put on and tuned. This is when it started smoking lol It's all done and I forgot to take a picture of the final product, but it's running and sounds great now!

| So he knew it was leaking oil and decided to still drive on it? Was it cheaper to buy another 4ac than to buy a new head?
But hey, I dont own an 85 and havent swapped an engine out in a couple years, which means i know absolutely nothing about cars L O L

| Money was the issue, he needed to buy alot of parts to do the conversion. He only spent about 300 for the rebuilt 4AC and a few other things.
He was about 100 miles away from home so there wasnt much he could do Bukkaz, it actually needed a new egnine anyway. The original was a piece of junk!

| What parts are needed to convert a 4AC powered AE85 to a 4AG one? | |

| Idk Kraze, but we have the engine running. The carburetor needs to be tuned and for some reason it's smoking ridiculously bad out of the exhaust. We think it's leftover oil still burning off, or we need to get a new PCV tube. Other than that it idles smooth and sounds nice. | |

| Because it was burning off old oil that had gotten into the exhaust, also we forgot to put on a PCV tube lol | |
