PostSubject: Foot Rule Suggestion   Sun Aug 11, 2013 9:40 am

Just a quick suggestion I would like to throw out. I know everyone has their preferences about how many feet there should be between racers to win/lose. But I think it might make battles more interesting if sudden deaths had higher stakes.

To do this lets say I agree on a 150 ft rule. When I go into "sudden death" with my opponent, that 150 ft rule turns to a 100 ft rule. This way we have to get even closer and this would usually tend to give us an outcome faster.

Like I said this is only a suggestion that some may want to try out in future battles.

Sudden death should be closer to 75 feet. Meet it or lose badly basically.

150ft ~= 9.75 car lengths
120ft ~= 7.5 car lengths
100ft ~= 6 car lengths
75ft ~= 4.25 car lengths

I don't think 150ft gaps should be endorsed. They're colossal. I always thought 100ft gaps were the standard, with 120ft gaps being a special exception.

A sudden death would be unnecessary depending on the rules. For example I don't like having fixed number of rounds. If someone gets overtaken or outran in the first round then that's that.

It isn't for a fixed amount of rounds, its for the battles that continue on and on. By shortening the amount of feet in sudden death then a winner will be chosen quicker.

Blah you guys dont get it lol. Lets say I race n00b123 and we race with the 100 ft rule. I win my race and he wins his race so now we are going to lead once again each. This time the 100 ft rule is now a 80 ft rule so now we have to be even closer to win, this way we wont battle each other 1,000 times to finally break a draw.

its really hard to know how many feet the gap is if theirs no judges. I like to just go at it and agree on who was faster. after a few runs you can tell whose leaving who behind

Oh, but that doesn't give the other guy the chance to lead. Touge is similar to drift battling and I don't think it's fair that I get to win after one run. Some people are better at following than leading (and vise-versa) so it doesn't make much sense but to each his own.

It's Initial D rules if you think about it. The entirety of Fourth and Fifth Stage ran this way.

Imagine if there was a 2nd round after ^THAT happened. Wouldn't make any sense right?

Touge races are nothing like drift battles, if you mess up and get outran in the first round that's all on you. Besides, everyone here has their own set of personal rules anyway. You can't really make everyone conform to a special set of rules when we all like our own personal rules better.

A more important discussion would be who decides the rules when somebody challenges another. I always get mixed opinions on this.

I would assume if you challenge someone then since you are the challenger you have to play by their rules. But you could also say that since they are the challenger that they get to pick the rules. It's a tough call, but I usually go with option A.

That is why I tried to put together the below,

http://tougeunion.forumotion.com/t933-official-forza-touge-rulebook

I know we all are not going to agree on 1 set of rules but I thought it would be helpful to have a general rulebook we can all refer to with optional tweaks per battle such as distance, class, etc.
